Diesel Technician

Join a team that keeps our community moving! We're hiring a Diesel Technician for the Kildeer School District to maintain and repair school buses and company vehicles. If you're experienced, safety-focused, and ready to make an impact, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

• Maintain, repair, and overhaul school buses and fleet vehicles per FMCSA guidelines.
• Champion the adoption of cutting-edge EV maintenance practices and technology.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.
• Tune engines, align wheels, and maintain electrical systems to meet DOT standards.
• Replace worn parts, change filters, and perform oiling/greasing.
• Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure safety and performance.
• Conduct minor bodywork and repainting as needed.
• Track parts usage, manage inventory, and order supplies.
• Report safety concerns and corrective actions.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist where needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

• Experience in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Leadership skills and willingness to train others.
• Technical certification or ASE preferred
