Qualifications Must meet CareerTech requirements to hold or qualify for a Standard or Provisional Career Technology Teaching Certificate in the appropriate area. Three years of experience in the past five years working in the Masonry and Construction field. Teaching experience is preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Knowledge of Career Technical Education preferred. Proficient computer skills – required. Responsibilities Instructs students through modeling, visuals, hands‑on activities, work‑based learning, demonstrations, thematic instruction, and uses audio/visual aids and technology. Develops program curriculum, objectives, course outlines, lesson plans, assignments, projects and evaluation instruments aligned with industry and state guidelines. Attends and stays current with industry training, implements relevant skills and establishes an advisory committee with industry professionals. Administers and evaluates assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, records grades, and provides feedback and progress reports to parents. Communicates curriculum and information to stakeholders via email, LMS, SIS or video conferencing. Manages classroom, sets high expectations, monitors students, assists with employability skills, and prepares them for employment upon program completion. Prepares all program completers for industry certification and state competency tests, identifies students not meeting competencies and initiates improvement plans. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, teacher training workshops, advisory committee meetings, student recruitment events, IEP/504 meetings and adapts lessons for students with special needs. Participates in and sponsors CareerTech student organization events and competitions, assists in job placement and provides work‑based learning opportunities and supervision. Performs additional duties assigned by immediate supervisor or above. Other Requirements Language and Grammar Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, compose and write grammatically correct correspondence. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization, interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, schedule or blueprint form. Physical Demands: Regularly uses hands, reaches, stands, walks, climbs; lifts 10–50 pounds; requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision; tolerates noise from somewhat loud to extremely loud. Work Environment: Exposed to fumes, airborne particles, high or precarious places, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold/heating, electrical shock, and vibration; noise varies from somewhat loud to extremely loud.
