EP Laboratory Technologist in Pflugerville

Job Summary As an Electro physiology Lab Technologist (EP Tech), you will be responsible for providing a safe patient care environment that aids in the diagnosis and treatment of patients experiencing cardiac procedures. You will maintain and operate the physiological systems, assist physicians during procedures, and perform unit-based activities that contribute to a positive and professional work environment. Responsibilities You will demonstrate familiarity with the basics of radiation safety. You will position the x‑ray camera for fluoroscopy/angiography. You will pan the table to accurately visualize requested views. You will perform daily checks to ensure proper equipment function. You will demonstrate sterile technique for handling sterile instruments and supplies. You will proficiently enter data on the EP hemodynamic monitoring system. You will assist with monitoring patient condition throughout the procedure, including rhythm, vital signs, response to interventions, and arterial lines. You will document required procedure steps, supplies used, and patient condition into the medical record throughout the case. You will communicate with the circulating nurse regarding supplies used for patient charge ticket and verify accuracy. You will monitor patients in the holding area as assigned. You will proficiently remove sheaths and hold pressure to achieve hemostasis. You will demonstrate proficiency with equipment in the EP lab. Experience Two years of electro physiology or cardiac catheterization lab experience performing both diagnostic and interventional procedures. Education Graduate of a cardiovascular technologist program or radiologic technology program. Licenses and Certifications If Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS): required within 6 months. If Radiologic Technologist: certified through the Texas Medical Board and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire. BLS certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policy. ACLS certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policy. Benefits Eligibility for benefits may vary by location.
