Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant in our client's dynamic team, you will have direct responsibility for managing the accounting and financial statement preparation for our substantial $300mm+ lease/loan portfolio.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Month-end Financial Closing and Reporting: Take ownership of the month-end financial closing process. Prepare journal entries, conduct account reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in financial statement reports.
• External Audit and Compliance: Liaise with external auditors to support financial and periodic bank/compliance audits.
• Reporting Requirements: Fulfill internal and external reporting requirements, including company-specific portfolio reporting to senior leadership.
• Budget Development and Analysis: Assist in the development of the annual budget. Conduct monthly variance analysis by department.
• Process Improvement: Lead various projects aimed at improving processes and efficiency within the accounting function.
• Special Projects and Analysis: Undertake special projects and duties as requested, including ad-hoc analysis in support of senior management.
• Deadline Management: Manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines with a keen focus on detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent from an accredited school.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in industry and/or public accounting.
• Proficient in monthly close processes.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, demonstrating the ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and deliver results.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).
• Proven track record of working independently with limited direction on simultaneous projects and teams.
