GMP Packaging Line Maintenance Mechanic (Pharma)

Location: Philadelphia, PA

What you’ll own

• Team with management to hit departmental goals; provide guidance to fellow mechanics.
• Execute and record monthly PMs to maintain packaging equipment reliability.
• Serve as primary line troubleshooter; coordinate with vendors when needed.
• Analyze failures across electrical/electronic/mechanical components and resolve efficiently.
• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Perform setups and format changeovers per production plan.
• Report equipment performance, issues, and status to packaging leadership.
• Support installation, commissioning, and debugging of new/modified machinery.
• Comply with SOPs, cGMP, and safety practices; maintain accurate documentation.
• Complete all required trainings in Master Control.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical school certificate.
• 5+ years as a GMP Packaging Mechanic.
• Required: bottle or blister packaging mechanic experience (at least one).
• Communication: read/understand instructions and correspondence; write reports/memos; present information clearly.
• Math: add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning: apply common sense to follow detailed written/oral instructions.

• Frequent hand/finger use and reaching; periods of sitting; occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching/crawling; ability to talk/hear.
• Vision: close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, twist, reach overhead, and bend to floor level.
• Respirator use required when handling chemicals of specified potency.
• Lift/move up to 50 lbs; heavier items with mechanical assistance.
• Occasional ladder/step climbing to access equipment.
• Read precision instruments (dials, gauges, thermometers) and view fine details with a microscope.
