Role Description The Assistant General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at the Courtyard by Marriott in Woodbury, MN. This role supports the General Manager in overseeing daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, and food and beverage services, to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction. The Assistant General Manager helps manage staff scheduling, training, and performance, and assists with maintaining brand standards, safety procedures, and operational policies. Daily responsibilities also include monitoring financial performance, supporting revenue and occupancy goals, handling guest feedback and service recovery, and collaborating with department leaders to drive efficiency and service excellence. The role regularly involves hands‑on support to teams during peak times and participation in local marketing or community engagement activities. Qualifications Experience in hotel or hospitality operations, including front office and housekeeping oversight. Skills in team leadership, staff coaching, and performance management. Ability to manage daily operations, prioritize tasks, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service and guest relations skills, including conflict resolution and service recovery. Basic understanding of budgeting, revenue management, and hotel profitability metrics. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Proficiency with hotel management systems and common office software tools. Previous supervisory experience in hospitality is strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or business is a plus.
