Summertime Server

Sun Valley Resort is seeking a summertime server to provide for the guests' food and beverage needs in a friendly and professional manner consistent with the organization's standards. Duties include following and complying with all Sun Valley Food & Beverage rules of conduct, policies, and procedures; setting up the dining room and workstation and ensuring preparedness for the shift; greeting the guests in a friendly and professional manner consistent with the Sun Valley experience; soliciting the guest's food and beverage order, making suggestions and explaining choices as necessary; communicating with the culinary team regarding allergens, dietary needs, or special requests; properly submitting orders through the point-of-sale system; delivering prepared food and beverages to the table, ensuring guest satisfaction; preparing and presenting the accurate check, performing necessary cashier services to process the payment, and adhering to cash handling standards; maintaining cleanliness and neatness of work areas and the guests' tables during and after the meal; performing all "side work" and other duties to ensure the guest has a positive dining experience.

Qualifications include preferred 2 years of serving experience in a similar resort setting, previous cash handling experience, TIPs certification for alcohol service or obtaining a TIPs certification within 30 days of hire, developed knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails with experience selling and presenting wines, flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and nights, excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to deal with people in a team-based, service-oriented environment, ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor, ability to perform the same work repeatedly, engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching, able to safely move objects up to approximately 50 pounds about the workplace. Must be 18 years or older.
