By joining the team as an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), you will provide clinical supervision and coordinate the Operating Room’s operations with other departmental disciplines, under the direction of the Nurse Manager. In this role, 70% of your time will be spent at the control desk running the board and communicating with all areas to ensure everything is running on time with no delays. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM – 5:00PM, plus on-call.

\n

\n

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit caregivers and other departments/units.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of caregivers, counsel caregivers on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and monitor attendance issues. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Interview, select and orient new caregivers.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes, studies and research initiatives.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Other duties as assigned. 

\n

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Two years of recent clinical nursing experience in an OR 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross   

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  If in a Critical Care area, an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment   

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills; good oral, written and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organization skills  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification – if you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within one year of hire 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Previous management experience 

\n

\n \n \n

\n

Physical Requirements:

\n

\n
• Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
\n
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
\n
• Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
\n
• Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
\n
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
\n
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
\n

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $39.50

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $59.60

\n
