Assistant Project Manager

Assist the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle on assigned projects Assist with obtaining project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, subcontractor/vendor management, and project schedules Coordinate safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement Assist project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle Assist with planning and managing HVAC and plumbing installation to meet code and project requirements, on time and under budget Participate in operation, corporate, and departmental meetings Assist with vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings Participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, capturing deviations from plan or schedule Collaborate with the project team to deliver projects on time and under budget Assist with estimating change orders, project documentation, project closeout, and commissioning requirements Participate in all facets of the project life cycle while developing mechanical-industry skills Requirements 0-2 years applicable field work experience Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Must be able to read construction plans and specifications Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination Effective verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary Ability to process submittals Experience in heavy commercial construction Travel 0-5% of the time to job site(s)/office locations Ability to climb stairs Ability to remain standing or sitting for prolonged periods Ability to repeat motions involving wrists, hands and/or fingers Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in project life cycle management, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination within the mechanical construction industry.
