Finance and Procurement (Functional Consultant)

SAP S/4HANA Finance & Procurement Functional Consultant Secaucus, NJ; Jacksonville, FL; or Franklin, TN, Potential Locations: Secaucus, NJ (1st Preference) | Jacksonville, FL (2nd) | Franklin, TN (3rd) Experience: 4–6 Years Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite Required, No Exceptions Important: This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days onsite every week with no exceptions. Candidates should be able to work from with Secaucus being the first preference. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance & Procurement Functional Consultant to support and optimize SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud operations. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in SAP Finance (FI/CO) and Sourcing & Procurement (MM/P2P) , with at least 2 years of experience supporting SAP S/4HANA Public or Private Cloud environments. This position will serve as a key point of contact for the Finance team following the initial SAP rollout , providing application support, configuration, troubleshooting, release management, and continuous improvement. Strong communication skills and the ability to understand and translate Finance business requirements into SAP solutions are essential. Key Responsibilities Application Support & Maintenance – 70% Provide Level 2 and Level 3 functional support for SAP Finance and Procurement processes. Support General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Controlling, Procure-to-Pay, Purchasing, and Inventory Management . Troubleshoot application issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive incidents through resolution. Monitor system performance, jobs, alerts, and background processing. Schedule and manage background jobs using SAP Schedule Application Jobs . Assist Finance teams with configuration, workflow management, and approved system changes. Perform in‑app configuration and fine‑tuning within the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud environment. Manage SAP user accounts, business roles, restrictions, and access requirements. Support semi‑annual SAP release adoption, including regression testing and business continuity activities. Maintain compliance with SAP S/4HANA Cloud architecture, security policies, governance, and operational standards. Integration & Technical Coordination Support integrations between SAP S/4HANA and external procurement, invoicing, and enterprise applications. Coordinate API and iFlow integrations using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) . Work with technical teams to ensure reliable data exchange and system interoperability. Support integration troubleshooting and issue resolution. Identify process gaps and recommend solutions aligned with SAP Best Practices. Support testing, enhancements, release management, and system updates. Develop and maintain configuration guides, SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation. Facilitate knowledge transfer and end‑user training. Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, IT, implementation partners, and other cross‑functional teams. Procurement Implementation Support – 30% Serve as the primary functional lead for stabilizing and optimizing newly deployed Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes. Partner with business stakeholders and implementation teams to define and configure procurement capabilities. Support advanced purchasing and contract management processes. Ensure procurement processes align with standard SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud capabilities. Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and system adoption. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field . 4–6 years of hands‑on SAP functional experience . At least 2 years of direct SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud or Private Cloud experience . Strong functional and configuration experience with SAP FI/FICO . Strong knowledge of: General Ledger (GL) Accounts Payable (AP) Accounts Receivable (AR) Asset Accounting (AA) Controlling (CO) Strong knowledge of SAP Sourcing & Procurement / MM / P2P . Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud SaaS capabilities, in‑app configuration, and extensibility. Proven experience troubleshooting complex SAP functional issues and managing end‑to‑end incident resolution. Strong understanding of Finance business processes and terminology. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with Finance stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP BTP . Experience with SAP Integration Suite, APIs, and iFlows . Experience supporting SAP integrations and external procurement/invoice management systems. PMO or project management experience. Familiarity with SAP Sales, Inventory Management, or other integrated modules. SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud certification in Finance or Procurement.
