Director of Agronomy - Golf Practice Facility/Sports Turf

To maintain immaculate golf facilities & sports fields at Abilene Christian University.

WHO YOU ARE

You love sports. You spent your childhood summers on baseball fields, your fall Friday nights under stadium lights, and your winters on hard courts. You love turfgrass. Whereas your friends are in awe when they look at Augusta National, you are at home. You understand just how hard it is to get those perfect putting greens, and clean edges on bunkers. You are meticulous. Others see perfection when they look at your courses, but all you see is the almost-imperceptible divot in the the fairway on #8. You love being part of a team. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintaining a premium golf practice facility (Bentgrass and Bermudagrass) & sports field surfaces (Bermudagrass) by  performing best practices in mowing, fertilization, pest management, aeration, moisture management, top dressing, verticutting and more.
2. Preparing, maintaining, and restoring all golf, soccer, and intramural playing surfaces.
3. Monitor, report and resolve field issues such as turf stress, disease, irrigation problems and pest management issues
4. Ability to work weekends when required
5. Communicating with grounds staff, as well as school officials and coaches on scheduling of athletic events.

REQUIREMENTS
