Accounting Manager

The Accounting Supervisor will be a member of the accounting department; managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable team and assisting the Senior Accounting Manager with various other general accounting tasks, including general ledger, intercompany reconciliation processes, and foreign currency translations. This role ensures accurate receivables records, as well as an efficient and well-managed cash collection process and related reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly and year-end close processes and report under tight deadlines, completing reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the accuracy of balance sheet accounts, and preparing financial reports and supporting schedules following IFRS standards for internal reporting and external filings.
• Plan, coordinate and participate in Accounts Receivable and general accounting functions, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and generally accepted accounting procedures.
• Supervise and support the Accounts Receivable team, assign workloads, train new hires, and monitor performance. Lead by example in a values-based culture.
• Collections and factoring management: Track outstanding payments, create weekly overdue reports and follow up on overdue accounts, Support and coordinate AR, customer service and sales team in any customer discussions and cash collection issues. Coordinate with factoring partner, submit receivables for factoring, track funded invoices, and reconcile factoring accounts to ensure accuracy and proper cash application. Lead any factoring audit.
• Develop and sustain collaborative relationships across teams, functions and dimensions of the business including Global and Technical Accounting, Tax, and Treasury members.
• Coordinate accounting projects and functional initiatives within Finance and /or cross functional teams.
• Assist with any New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) requirements and administrative tasks.
• Process and report on capital investments, including investment order tracking, lease/buy analysis, capital budgets, depreciation processing and IFRS 16 Lease accounting and analysis.
• Prepare and update insurance renewal applications and document requests, along with organization of insurance policies and COI requests.
• Perform and maintain internal control effectiveness for responsible areas.
• Support in preparation of tax provision workpapers.
• Preparation and filling of State sales and use tax returns.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement better systems or controls. Troubleshoot errors within the ERP and other IT-related systems as they relate to the financial processes.
