Litigation Legal Assistant

Job Description Job Description Lowndes is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant with 3+ years of defense litigation experience in a law firm environment to support our busy litigation practice group in Orlando, Florida. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Organize and maintain physical and electronic files and records. Open new files, including conflict checks and close existing files following detailed procedure. Update database records as necessary when information changes. Create charts or spreadsheets to track or detail information. Type, proofread, and edit legal documents from dictation or handwritten notes. Manage attorney calendars, contact lists and file listings. Schedule meetings and/or conference rooms as requested. Assist with the client billing process, including inputting attorney’s time, editing bills, calendaring billing due dates, and delivering bills to clients in electronic and paper forms. Initiate, answer, and direct telephone calls, relaying or responding to messages as required. Build and maintain client relationships. Candidates should enjoy a teamwork environment, have a professional demeanor, possess excellent communication skills, and be proactive and detail oriented.
