Summer 2026 Tonka Online Teacher: Science-Chemistry, 1 Position

Position Summary: Working Dates: 6/15/26–8/21/26. License Required: Minnesota 9-12 Chemistry or Physical Sciences (Chem/Physics). Compensation: Per pupil stipend: $270/student for all courses other than physical education (including wellness) which is $160/student. Not eligible for medical or dental benefits. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver online lessons using district-approved materials adapted to an online learning environment. Promote student success through clear expectations, prompt responses, and regular feedback. Incorporate strategies to encourage active learning, application, interaction, participation, and collaboration in the online environment. Evaluate students' academic growth and keep appropriate records. Use data from assessments and other sources to adjust instruction. Communicate with parents via Schoology messages, phone, email, or virtual/in‑person conferences. Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with the Tonka Online Coordinator and supervisors. Implement assessments ensuring validity and reliability. Participate in professional learning to stay current with best practices. Perform other duties of similar nature or level. Specific Responsibilities: Collaborative work in a fast‑paced environment, interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and community amid multiple requests. Support and communicate with other administrators and staff. Respond in emergency situations. Know, interpret, and follow district policies. Knowledge and Skills: Apply skills in daily routines.
