26-0119 Summer School Health Room Assistant (Multiple Positions) @ Special Education Marysville School District 25 (WA), Special Education – Marysville, Washington Job Summary This is a Registered Nurse (RN) delegated position. The Health Room Assistant (HRA) works directly under the RN and assists in implementing school health services. Employment Status 2 temporary positions – Part‑time. Salary Hourly rate at current level for successful candidate(s). Work Schedule June 29 – July 30 (Monday – Thursday). Liberty Elementary: 8:15 am – 12:45 pm. Marysville Pilchuck High School: 7:45 am – 12:15 pm. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. SEIU 10 membership. Proof of completion of No Child Left Behind requirements (copy of Associate of Arts degree or official college transcript showing 72.0 quarter credit hours or PARAPRO assessment score ≥ 461). Ability to stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods. 1‑st Aid & Adult/Child CPR training (completed within 30 days of hire and maintained). Citrix training in the health module (within 60 days of hire – district‑provided). Blood‑borne Pathogens training (within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter – district‑provided). AED training (within 60 days of hire – district‑provided). HIPAA/FERPA training provided by district Health Service Coordinator. Extensive orientation provided by district Health Service Coordinator. Experience/training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity preferred. Successful Washington State Patrol and FBI fingerprint clearance. Proof of immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later). I‑9 employment eligibility compliance with IRCA. Completion of all district‑required training within 30 calendar days of hire. Essential Job Functions Assist RN in implementing school health services. Maintain student health records. Provide student and staff care for injuries or illnesses. Explain documents and answer procedural inquiries. Perform data entry and word processing tasks. Maintain, retrieve immunization, scoliosis, and vision data for compliance. Maintain, retrieve health files, logs and confidential documents. Maintain inventory of health‑room supplies. Administer medication and implement health‑care plans as directed by RN. Conduct student checks for communicable parasites as needed. Generate reports and other required information. Attend meetings and training directed by RN. Organize and oversee health screenings and clinics. Supervise and correct students to maintain safety. Escort students to and from locations as needed. Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular hours. Professionally interact with students, staff, and public. Comply with all district policies and procedures. Perform related duties as requested by RN. Desired Skills Plan, organize, and prioritize workload. Fair and consistent with children, parents, and staff. Warm and confident interaction style. Independent worker, flexible to assignment changes. Timely completion of tasks. Follow written and oral instructions. Establish effective relationships in a multicultural environment. Perform delegated medical tasks such as catheterization, tube feeding, blood glucose/insulin monitoring. Integrate medical, behavioral, and crisis interventions. Lift objects up to 40 lbs. Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA laws regarding medical info and confidentiality. Keyboarding proficiency on PC and related software. Written and oral communication skills, medical terminology familiarity. Handle confidential matters. Operate PC using district‑adopted software. Interpret assignments, procedures, rules, and regulations. Work Environment The HRA works in a confined area, requires precise hand movements, constant interruptions, and inflexible deadlines. The employee must stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, kneel, stand, and lift to assist students. Exposure to infectious diseases and dealing with distressed or angry persons are part of the role. Noise levels are acceptable and may vary with daily activity.
