Director, Commercial Operations (DCO), U.S. HIV - West Region

Merck seeks a Director of Commercial Operations for its U.S. HIV business in the West Region. This role involves leading a regional field organization, developing business plans, managing customer relationships, and driving sales performance while ensuring compliance and strategic alignment across the HIV care ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead high-performing regional field team; recruit, hire, develop, and retain talent
- Develop regional business plans, allocate resources, and drive accountability for business performance
- Own regional customer strategy and relationships with healthcare professionals and health systems
- Translate national HIV strategy into compliant regional execution and launch readiness activities
- Use performance data and customer insights to evaluate execution, identify gaps, and adjust plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field; MBA or Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial experience
- Minimum 2 years leading geographically dispersed teams with demonstrated leadership development
- Minimum 3 years managing relationships with healthcare professionals or complex accounts
- Proven ability to translate strategy into field execution using data and customer insights
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, market access, and medical teams
- Deep understanding of HIV treatment ecosystem, access, reimbursement, and market dynamics
