UTS-Temporary Statistician Investigator at UNC Chapel Hill

Position Overview Temporary Statistician Investigator at UNC Chapel Hill. Work in a collaborative team of investigators to analyze longitudinal data from the AURORA study and other R01 studies. The primary focus is to assist with statistical analyses of data collected from individuals presenting to emergency departments immediately after trauma. Participants were followed longitudinally for one year using advanced adaptive sampling methods and a comprehensive battery of self‑report, neurocognitive, physiological, digital phenotype, psychosocial, neuroimaging, and genomic markers. Work Schedule Hybrid (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday in office; Thursday/Friday remote) Responsibilities Develop scripts and code to streamline and optimize analyses. Communicate findings: write and edit analytics methods for peer‑reviewed publications and summarize analysis results for stakeholders and stakeholder meetings. Assist with analyses of varied longitudinal data from the AURORA study and other R01 projects. Maintain metadata regarding databases and work performed. Develop analysis plans in collaboration with members of the research team. Qualifications Master's degree in a social science, applied science, clinical science, epidemiology, or a closely related discipline required; PhD preferred. Foreign equivalent degrees considered. Demonstrated advanced statistical analysis experience with the ability to learn and apply new analytical methods independently. Experience with structural equation modeling strongly preferred. Proficiency in statistical programming and analysis software, including R; experience with Mplus preferred. Demonstrated scientific writing ability, including contributions to peer‑reviewed manuscripts, technical reports, or research publications. Experience working in clinical, epidemiological, or multidisciplinary research environments preferred. Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of interdisciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications 2–5+ years of experience in quantitative research, advanced statistical analysis, or applied data science in academic, clinical, epidemiological, or research settings. Master's degree plus extensive relevant experience in advanced quantitative analysis considered in lieu of a PhD. Required Skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, datasets, and project timelines effectively. Ability to analyze complex longitudinal data across studies, including cleaning, structuring, and interpreting multi‑time‑point datasets. Experience with bioinformatics research, including working with biological, clinical, or molecular datasets and applying computational or statistical methods to interpret results.
