Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Therapy) position in Milwaukee, WI. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing respiratory care to primarily geriatric and adult patients, with some pediatric cases in the emergency department. The schedule is on days, with a 12-hour shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week, and included weekend rotations every other week.

• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), minimum of 1 year experience, valid respiratory therapy license, COVID-19 vaccination, and ability to support vent and airway management procedures including vent management, CPAP, BiPap, nebulizers, A-line placement, intubation, vent weaning, extubation, and ABGs.
• Support on the Unit: Use of charting system EPIC, Pyxis medication dispensing system, and various ventilators including AVEA vents, Servo U ventilators, LPU 1200 vents, parapack vents for MRI, and Hamilton vents for transport.
• Float: Float rotation within hospital to all units.
• Orientation: At least one shift to learn flow.
• Additional Information: Patient types include geriatrics, adults, and some pediatric patients in the emergency department. Patient ratios are 1:1, and scheduling includes every other weekend rotation with the possibility of time off approval for up to 7 days. On-call varies, and shifts adhere to a fatigue policy limiting work to 60 hours per week or five consecutive 12-hour shifts. No block scheduling will be accommodated. Scrub color acceptable with no camo or denim. Parking is free.
