Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CSTAmerican TravelerCharlotte, North Carolina, United StatesDescriptionAmerican Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a busy hospital operating room, requiring at least 2 years of specialty OR experience and strong CVOR skills.Details13-week contract in a hospital Operating Room with 13 ORs plus 1 procedure/Cysto roomAverages 45 cases per day across a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, spine, general, breast, podiatry, urology, robotic, GYN, and plasticsCVOR cases include CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic procedures10-hour night shift schedule, Monday through Thursday 7:00 PM-5:30 AMWeekend rotation typically limited to call coverageCall required with 3-4 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, 30-minute response time, sleep room availableNo floating requiredUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitorsSupported by OR assistants, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, and 24/7 anesthesia/CRNA coverageRequirementsMinimum 2 years of OR experience in specialtyMinimum 12 months of core work experience in unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last yearBLS certification requiredCompletion of an accredited Surgical Technologist education program required prior to startNational certification preferredLicense required if applicableStrong and recent experience with CABG, TAVR, vascular, and thoracic cases for CVOR assignmentsExperience scrubbing in orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, general, urology, robotic, GYN, colon, breast, spine, podiatry, and plastic surgery casesEpic EMR experienceLast 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for considerationMinimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RNAdditional InformationFirst-time travelers will be consideredFacility has Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations with no trauma designation and is not a teaching hospitalCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not acceptedReturning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent positionOrientation is 1 week for Main OR and 2 weeks for CVOR, consisting of five 8-hour shiftsHoliday expectations include working or being on call for approximately 75% of holidays on a rotating basisRTO requires manager approvalScrubs provided and free parking availableFinal clinical interview conducted by the hiring manager
