Exciting Opportunity in Labor and Delivery!

Job Description:


- Shift: 19:00-07:00
- Location: Salem, Virginia
- Unit: L&D, Main Building, 2nd Floor
- Number of Beds: 17 inpatient, 2 triage
- Patient Ratios: 1:1-2

Unit Specifics:
- Secretary on dayshift only, no techs.
- Types of Equipment: Monica Novii, Ambulatory (Telemetry) Monitors, GE EFM.
- Documentation System: Meditech, Centricity.

Schedule Requirements:
- 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
- Floating Policy: MB/Postpartum.
- Experience Requirements: AIDET, courtesy, and respect.

Certifications Needed:
- BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate FM or C-EFM, NRP.

Requested Skill Set:
- IV insertion, lab draws.
- JADA and BAKRI knowledge.
- Blood administration, nitrous administration.
- Experience with vaginal exams and setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries.

Must Have:
- Labor and delivery experience.
- Strip interpretation skills.
- Familiarity with common OB medications.
- Circulator experience in C/S and PACU recovery for spinal anesthesia.
- Antepartum triage experience.
- Knowledge of common complications and treatments for obstetrical complaints.
- Assistance with epidural placement.
- A teamwork approach to patient care.

Advanced Skills Needed:
- Procedures performed on unit: ECV, C/S, Vaginal Deliveries.
- Assistance with vacuum or forceps as needed.
- Epidural placement.

Certifications Required:
- RN licensure.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP.

Dress Code:
- Hospital provided scrubs; change on arrival and departure.

Unit Guidelines/Policies:
- Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.
- 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
- Ready for huddle at 6:45.
