Position: Senior Project Accountant

Location: Houston, TX Galleria Area (77056)

Compensation: $95K–$110K + profit based annual bonus

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with internal/external financial reporting, including investor/partnership reporting pkgs
• Support project accounting activities, including job costing and tracking development budgets
• Maintain and reconcile land, lot, and inventory schedules
• Assist with preparation and submission of monthly loan draws, and supporting documentation
• Track debt and equity activity, including financing schedules and cash flow tracking
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide documentation for interim and year-end audits
• Review and process invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment
• Collaborate with PMs and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting on developments
• Assist with cash receipts, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Min 4–5+ years' accounting experience combining public and private industry
• 1-2 yrs Public accounting and audit experience a MUST
• Experience or exposure to real estate, construction, or project accounting strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with job costing, WIP, or percentage-of-completion accounting preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with project teams
• Adv Excel and accounting software (ERP) proficiency required with Sage 300/Timberline a plus
