Senior Lead Software Engineer, AI Platform

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, with at least 5 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong Kubernetes and Docker experience, including cluster operations and production troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, Java, or C#.
• Ability to independently resolve design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight.
• Strong knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and public, private, and hybrid deployment models.
• Foundational knowledge of machine learning, including transformer architecture, training, and inference.
• Experience with infrastructure as code.
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture components, including microservices, infrastructure, storage, security, and routing and switching.
• Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security; experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant practices and controls.
• The position is subject to Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act; an offer is contingent on our review of criminal conviction history, including pretrial diversions or program entries.
• Preferred: Foundational knowledge of NVIDIA GPU infrastructure software, such as DCGM, BCM, or Dynamo Inference.
• Preferred: Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Preferred: Experience with ML operations and related tools, including MLflow.
• Preferred: Background in high-performance computing and ML frameworks such as vLLM, Ray.io, or Slurm.
• Preferred: Strong knowledge of network architecture, SQL or NoSQL database programming, and data modeling.
• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud data services, big data processing tools, and Linux environments.

• Provide technical direction aligned with business objectives, working with engineers, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review, troubleshoot, and improve code written by others.
• Shape product design, application functionality, and technical operations through informed decisions.
• Promote firmwide software development life cycle frameworks, tools, and best practices.

• Design and deploy secure, scalable cloud platforms optimized for AI and machine learning workloads.
• Partner with AI teams to translate computing needs into infrastructure requirements.
• Monitor, manage, and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency.
• Create CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code solutions to streamline ML deployment and operations.
• Encourage adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reusable patterns and automation across the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
• Apply software development life cycle toolchain capabilities, including approved AI-assisted development and automation tools, to increase the value of automation at scale.
