For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see Notice to Out of State Applicants.** **JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS**The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a research assistant under the direction of Dr. Zoubeida Ounaies.Job Duties:* Monitor and maintain a calendar of tasks for deadlines and programming milestones for several projects simultaneously* Center communications, including website updates, social media, maintenance of contact lists, and correspondence* Maintaining regular contact with our research partners abroad and nationally, setting up meetings and webinars, maintaining documents, and creating and implementing project timelines* Collect and analyze data* Contribute to manuscripts* Assist with conducting research experimentsQualifications and Requirements:* Experience with working in an experimental lab; presenting and analyzing research results* Problem-solve with critical thinking and in a self-starting manner, proactively addressing gaps in provided instructions **BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES**Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. **CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS**Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
