Project Title: Asian Cohort for Alzheimer’s Disease (ACAD)

Project Details and Goal

The overall goal of the ACAD study is to recruit 5,081 Asian older adults across the United States and Canada. The study will collect DNA and plasma biomarkers, genotypes, social determinants, and clinical diagnostic information.

At the NYU site, the study will recruit approximately 800 Korean American older adults aged 60 years and older, including both cognitively healthy individuals and those with cognitive impairment, from community settings in the Northeast United States.

Position Summary

A significant increase in administrative workload is anticipated as a result of expanded carry-forward research activities and associated budget execution. Responsibilities include supporting the hiring and onboarding of research staff, and processing payments for project-related activities involving consultants, data collectors, cultural navigators, and community partner sites. This position is essential to ensuring efficient operations, adherence to institutional and sponsor requirements, and the timely implementation of study activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research Administrative and Operational Responsibilities:

The Research Administrative Assistant will provide routine administrative and operational support for a federally funded research project. Responsibilities include assisting with personnel-related paperwork; processing and tracking project-related payments; and supporting basic budget tracking and reimbursement documentation in coordination with the site Principal Investigator, institutional finance offices, and the project program manager.

Financial and Budgeting Responsibilities:

The position will assist with maintaining organized records related to budget execution, managing research documents in Korean and English, and communicating with research staff and community partners regarding financial and administrative matters as needed. The Research Administrative Assistant will handle confidential information in accordance with institutional policies and provide general administrative support to ensure efficient operations and timely execution of study activities.

Position Details

This is a part-time, fixed-term, grant-funded position expected to run from end of April 2026 through Oct. 13, 2026, subject to continuation and possible extension based on the availability of grant funding.

Expected Work Hours : Part-time, Fixed Term position with approximately 14 hours per week.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $40. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
