Emish Restaurant is a Ukrainian and European restaurant located in Federal Way, WA. We are looking for an experienced and reliable Line Cook to join our kitchen team and help us prepare high-quality Ukrainian and European dishes.

The ideal candidate is a hardworking culinary professional who takes pride in their work, can follow recipes and kitchen procedures, works efficiently during busy service, and maintains high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety.

• Prepare and cook Ukrainian and European dishes according to recipes and restaurant standards
• Complete food preparation and mise en place for daily service
• Work efficiently at an assigned kitchen station
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, preparation methods, and presentation standards
• Prepare ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, soups, and other food items
• Cook food to the required quality, temperature, and presentation standards
• Maintain consistent food quality and portion control
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team during service
• Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef
• Keep your station clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout the shift
• Monitor food levels at your station and communicate when additional preparation is needed
• Properly store, label, and rotate food products
• Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and kitchen areas
• Assist other kitchen team members when needed
• Complete opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude

Work Schedule: Full-time or part-time; schedule will be discussed during the interview. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Pay & Compensation: $22+/h + tips (Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications).

Full-time employees are eligible for competitive employee benefits including paid sick leave (1 hour per 40 hours worked), partial employer-covered medical insurance (75% for full-time employees), and paid vacation: 1 week after 1 year of employment and 2 weeks after 2 years.

• Previous professional kitchen or line cook experience
• Ability to prepare food efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Ability to follow recipes and detailed preparation instructions
• Basic knowledge of professional cooking techniques
• Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team
• Strong attention to food quality, portion sizes, and presentation
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service
• Reliable and punctual
• Professional and respectful attitude
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work weekends and holidays

• Experience preparing Ukrainian cuisine
• Experience preparing European or Eastern European cuisine
• Experience working in a high-volume restaurant
• Experience working multiple kitchen stations
• Washington State Food Worker Card or ability to obtain one
• Culinary education or professional culinary training
