Laboratory Technician I, Overnight Sequencing, Part Time 10AM - 3PM EST

Azenta seeks an entry-level laboratory technician for overnight sequencing operations in Waltham, Massachusetts. The role involves sample processing, template preparation, purification, and loading for DNA sequencing, working 10am–3pm EST part-time with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Sort, process, and prepare customer samples for whole plasmid sequencing
• Perform template preparation, amplification, and PCR purification
• Load prepared samples onto sequencing machines
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and communicate with customers and team members
• Prepare samples for shipment to New Jersey facility daily

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• 1+ years laboratory work experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Physical capability to lift 30 lbs and work extended periods standing
• Strong attention to detail and fine motor skills
• Knowledge of sterile laboratory techniques and best practices
• LIMS experience preferred

Compensation: $21.63/hr
