Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial client intake interviews, gather relevant background information, and maintain clear and empathetic communication with clients.

• Assist with drafting and filing administrative charges with appropriate state and government agencies.

• Manage complex plaintiff-side discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and deficiency correspondence with opposing counsel.

• Organize and analyze discovery materials and ensure case deadlines and litigation calendars are accurately maintained.

• Gather paystubs, tax records, medical records, and other documentation to assist with damages calculations, including lost wages, emotional distress damages, and statutory penalties.

• Support attorneys with hearing and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness binders, drafting subpoenas, and coordinating trial-related materials.

• Assist with case strategy and overall litigation preparation as directed by attorneys.

• Manage approximately 50+ active matters while maintaining accurate and organized case files.

• Provide guidance and workflow support to junior paralegals and legal assistants.

• Utilize e-discovery platforms, legal research databases, and case management technology to efficiently manage litigation matters.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and sensitive case materials.

Qualifications

• 4-7+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience required.

• Strong preference for experience with plaintiff-side labor and employment litigation.

• Experience handling matters involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage claims, or similar employment disputes is highly preferred.

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or a bachelor's degree.

• Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and plaintiff-side litigation strategies.

• Experience with discovery, document management, damages calculations, and trial preparation.

• Proficiency with e-discovery platforms and legal research databases, including Westlaw.

• Experience with modern legal case management systems; experience with Smokeball is a plus.

• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload and 50+ active matters.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate with clients with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.

• Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned matters.
