Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The nurse will manage critically ill cardiac patients, including post-operative CABG, impella, balloon pump, and neuro procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to ICU patients, including ventilator management and telemetry monitoring.
• Administer advanced procedures such as CRRT, EVDs, bolts, and induced hypothermia.
• Perform bedside shift reports, ensuring effective patient hand-offs and documentation accuracy.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain proficiency in Meditech electronic documentation and other ICU technologies.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 36 months of nursing experience, including one year in ICU.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, especially in facilities using Meditech.
• Demonstrated ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients, including ventilator management.
• Proficient in telemetry strip interpretation and critical care procedures.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale required; TNCC and advanced certifications preferred.
• BSN degree preferred with additional specialized certifications highly valued.
