As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care from initial introduction through final send-off, providing professional nursing care to a designated group of patients in an ambulatory care setting. In this role, you will support the growth of CV Testing and Cardiology SPECT/PET Imaging within Imaging by assisting with medications administered during procedures, monitoring patients for ECG changes or signs of instability, and providing post-procedure recovery care. You will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, providing education, answering questions, and helping ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive patient experience throughout their care. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Assess health status by completing a nursing assessment. Perform telephone triage. Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings. Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team. Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care. Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitor patients for response. Initiate CPR and other emergency measures. Provide health education to patients and families. Develop, evaluate, adapt and document education to learning needs. Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and patient safety. Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field and identify annual core competencies. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross *In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through American Red Cross Certification within six months of hire One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Cardiology or strong LPN background One year of experience in cardiac setting Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
