Job Overview A law firm seeks a Senior Immigration Attorney in San Jose, CA. This role offers a promising opportunity for an admitted attorney to advance their career within a well-established firm. The successful candidate will manage their caseload, engage with clients, and collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. Duties Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions. Represent individuals in removal proceedings at Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. Manage a diverse workload of cases. Conduct intake with detained individuals at centers. Prepare immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions. Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as needed. Collaborate with law enforcement and community organizations on immigration law changes. Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients. Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony. Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases. Requirements At least 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law. Ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward. Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications. Experience with Case Management Software is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required. Strong interpersonal skills. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Admitted to practice law. Skills Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k) plan.
