Diesel Engine Field Service Technician - Level II

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Odessa, TX . $5000 Sign on Bonus! for external hires Key Responsibilities Complete repairs and rebuilds of engine products in the field. Develop productive customer relations and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. Apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs, schedule maintenance, and prepare required parts and tools. Assist with completion of required documentation such as work completed documentation, timesheets, warranty claims and quality forms via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Complete training in line with skill and business requirements. Ensure adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues/incidents to the supervisor. Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner, anticipating and ensuring prompt attention to customer needs. Apply specialized tools and follow documented procedures/policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs. Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field. Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor. Complete required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims and quality documents via handwritten or business system input screens. Identify additional service opportunities with customers. Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation. Report any issues or incidents to site management and supervisor. Electronic Service Tool Application – identifying the suite of available hardware and software tools required for a service event, utilizing the appropriate electronic tool set to maintain the product or diagnose, and interpreting electronic tool results to determine next steps. Engine Systems Interactions – interpreting and analyzing interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems (exhaust, heating, cooling, fuel systems, driveline, aftertreatment, controls, sensors, etc.) by applying tools, service publications, and taking measurements to diagnose and repair. Product Repair and Maintenance – repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure quality, disassembling and assembling engines or generators, inspecting and replacing parts and components to minimize cost of ownership, and performing progressive damage checks. Service Documentation – creating and verifying customer, equipment and technical information; capturing specific data using required service tools; and following procedures to maintain an accurate record of work done. Technical Escalation – obtaining product technical issue information and utilizing available resources, elevating issues to higher levels of expertise, and capturing steps in databases for seamless transitions and accurate responses. Education, Licenses, Certifications Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit Potentially required licensing for export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience Basic level field service work experience Intermediate level knowledge and/or experience with engine products Customer service experience DOT Requirements A current valid license is required for this role. This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle report free from major violations. This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. Three years of driving experience. Subject to DOT driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
