Sales Representative - Western CT/Poughkeepsie - Surgical Technologies

Overview As a Surgical Technologies Sales Representative, you will build strong relationships with surgeons, nurses, and key stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions that support patient care. You will lead product evaluations in operating rooms and office settings, clearly demonstrating the value of our products. Through consistent follow‑up and service, you will become a trusted partner within your accounts. You will manage and grow your territory by developing existing relationships, identifying new opportunities, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals. You’ll collaborate closely with your Regional Manager, sharing insights and progress along the way. When onsite, you will use your product knowledge and adaptability to troubleshoot, provide guidance, and ensure customers feel fully supported. Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, nurses, and key stakeholders. Lead product evaluations in operating rooms and office settings, clearly demonstrating product value. Provide consistent follow‑up and service to become a trusted partner within accounts. Manage and grow territory by developing existing relationships and identifying new opportunities. Collaborate closely with Regional Manager, sharing insights and progress. Troubleshoot and provide guidance when onsite to ensure customers feel fully supported. Qualifications 5+ years in an outside sales position (medical related fields or B2B sales preferred) OR a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with at least 2+ years of outside sales experience. Approximately 20% travel required; valid driver’s license and ability to drive an automobile. Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or 20 pounds constantly and meet cognitive demands including visual and auditory discrimination, reading ability, and memory retention. Exercise discretion and independence when applying professional expertise; manage time, projects, stress, and conflict. Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication. Ability to bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision and to prioritize work while keeping detailed, confidential records. Ability to communicate and present to large groups of people. Unwavering ethics & integrity in a competitive and demanding work environment. Preferred Qualifications Background in medical device, surgical, or healthcare sales. Exposure to the operating room (OR), case coverage, or procedural environments. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, clinicians, and key decision‑makers. Experience selling capital equipment and/or consumables. Familiarity with hospital systems, IDNs, and GPOs. Working knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) for managing customer interactions and pipeline. Compensation & Benefits This role is 100% commission and is eligible for bonuses and benefits. The travel percentage is 20%. Stryker will provide an in‑house product training program and field sales training. Work Flexibility Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. Field‑based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and travel within a set boundary. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility with the expectation to be onsite as defined by your manager.
