Senior Accountant

Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements Prepare tax return source schedules and supporting audit schedules Maintain the general ledger and resolve differences Provide analytical review of financial statements to management Prepare and review monthly consolidated statements and release monthly financial packets Support training initiatives for Workday and other Finance software systems Align company reporting needs with Workday functionality Revise or develop month-end line-of-business financial reporting packets and recommend efficiency improvements Represent tax and accounting interests on new product and strategic initiatives and power upgrades Prepare and review journal entries and monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules Perform analytical procedures and prepare statements using GAAP and SAP methods Review accounts payable invoices for accurate general ledger coding Generate and review Workday financial summary reports and variance analyses Investigate account reconciliation variances and document proposed solutions Research accounting pronouncements and summarize operational and reporting impacts Support affiliates with month-end closing and reporting responsibilities Support regulatory and tax reporting filings Develop and train tax and accounting staff Coordinate information flow among accounting and other departments Update procedure documentation and develop process improvements Support strategic initiatives and new product policies and procedures Develop and execute test scenarios for queries and finance interfaces Mentor and train staff accountants, bookkeepers, and other organizational personnel Produce timely financial information for management, auditors, and government agencies Participate on interdepartmental teams and communicate information to the accounting department Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required, or four additional years of experience in lieu of degree Four years of experience in accounting required CPA strongly preferred Working knowledge of general ledger systems and spreadsheet experience required Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access), Visio and Project Planning software preferred Detail-oriented documentation of complex processes, including workflow diagrams and action plans Analytical skills to prepare and analyze business plans and technical designs Ability to coordinate multiple projects Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to identify problems and recommend resolutions No immigration or work visa sponsorship provided Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in financial statement preparation, tax return scheduling, and general ledger maintenance while ensuring compliance with GAAP and SAP methods.
