Patient Care Tech - PACU

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Nursing Assistant program preferred. Current BLS certification.

Experience: Entry level

Required Skills: Capable of interpreting and following instructions. Must demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain a positive relationship with physicians and staff. Must demonstrate competency in basic patient care skills. Must possess the ability to learn basic computer skills.

Physical Demands: Good physical and mental health. Must be able to lift, bend, pull and push using proper body mechanics, without limitations. Must be able to push patient beds and stretchers to nursing units. Must be able to maneuver wheelchair to deliver patient to discharge area. Must possess visual acuity with corrective lenses to read printed material and visualize patients to the degree that changes in color or respirations can be detected; hearing ability with auditory aides to understand the normal speaking voice without viewing the speaker; and speaking ability to ask and answer pertinent questions and relay information. Must demonstrate the ability to wear properly fitting respiratory protective mask for periods of time without limitations. Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
