DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Controller to provide steady financial leadership for a private club in metro Detroit This position is ideal for a hands-on controller looking for in an exciting opportunity at a well respected private club. This is an on site role and open due to a retirement. Responsibilities:• Oversee daily accounting operations and provide practical financial leadership.• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements while ensuring reporting remains timely and reliable.• Partner with the existing accounting staff members responsible for billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll to support overall department performance.• Perform detailed account reviews, reconciliations, and general ledger oversight to keep records current and accurate.• Support budgeting, cash management, and routine financial analysis to assist leadership with operational decisions.• Use accounting systems and reporting tools to improve visibility into financial results and monitor key activity.• Contribute in a highly hands-on capacity, stepping into transactional and managerial accounting work as needed.Requirements• 5+ years of accounting or controllership experience, including responsibility for financial reporting and month-end processes.• Demonstrated hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and core accounting functions.• Proficiency with accounting software systems and strong comfort working across multiple financial platforms.• Experience using ADP, CRM tools, Crystal Reports, or comparable business and reporting systems.• Solid understanding of budgeting, auditing support, reconciliations, and general ledger management.• Ability to work independently, organize competing priorities, and bring structure to an accounting function that needs immediate support.• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both accounting staff and operational leadership.Job typePerm
