Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support K-12 students and educators as a dedicated Paraprofessional in a vibrant school environment near Berkeley, CA. This contract opportunity involves working closely alongside teachers to enrich the learning experience and ensure every student can succeed in a safe, inclusive setting.
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting students in a classroom, special education, or similar school setting
- Ability to follow teacher directives and adapt to changing needs throughout the school day
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or related field preferred
- Reliability, patience, and a genuine passion for helping children learn
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in implementing instructional activities and reinforcing lesson plans
- Support students one-on-one and in small groups, including those with special needs
- Help with classroom management, organization, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and other staff as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as lunch, recess, or transitions
