Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ED across adult, pediatric, and geriatric populations, including initial assessment, triage, monitoring, and ongoing clinical management.
• Administer medications, perform procedures within scope, and respond to emergencies (including cardiac events, trauma, and respiratory distress) in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC), including accurate flow sheets, orders, and patient education; coordinate discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.
• Work with a comprehensive ED team to manage common diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure; use ED equipment like Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun when indicated.
• Float to related ED areas as needed; maintain patient safety and adhere to unit policies, including adherence to infection control and quality metrics.

Requirements

• Active NY RN license with Nursys verification
• TNCC required to be in hand; ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS (AHA certifications)
• EPIC EMR experience and proficiency in ED documentation
• 2+ years of emergency department nursing experience; travel experience required
• Pediatric experience preferred; ability to manage newborns through geriatrics
• RTO (time off) must be included at time of submission
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ED with floating to related areas
• Driver’s license with current address matching demographics
• Local candidates within approximately 75 miles may be considered for a local rate
