We are seeking motivated general laborers and material handlers to join a dynamic team at a manufacturer specializing in custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. The role involves moving materials within the machine shop to assist machine operators and painters. Responsibilities include handling sheet metal and smaller objects, with larger items managed by forklift operators.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in moving materials around the machine shop.
• Support machine operators and painters by transporting sheet metal and smaller objects.
• Engage in general labor tasks and manual handling.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively.
• Read and interpret tape measures for accurate material handling.

Essential Skills:

• 1+ years of manual labor experience.
• Experience in warehouse or material handling environments.
• Ability to work in hot environments.
• Proficiency in reading tape measures.
• Skill in using hand tools and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Initiative and the ability to work every day of the week.
• Experience in roofing, landscaping, or similar jobs in extremely hot environments.

Work Environment:

Located in Pasadena, Texas, the medium-sized, clean, and organized shop is non-climate controlled with open bay doors and plenty of fans.

Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses.

The day shift operates from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, typically working 11 hours a day, 5-6 days a week.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
