Job description – Housekeeper

Seeking a housekeeper for a private residence in Annapolis. 

2 years’ experience required. Seasonal summer position. Must have flexible schedule weekdays/weekend. 8-hour shifts.

Job entails of all household cleaning needs and care of fine interiors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general and in-depth cleaning in the buildings.
• Clean common area, baths, kitchen areas, and bedrooms daily, including floors, furniture, carpets, and surfaces.
• Handle the daily graces (fresh towels in the bathrooms, making beds, wiping down bathrooms, and laundry).
• Responsible for the care of fine furnishings including antiques and artwork.
• Must understand use of nontoxic cleaning products and have expertise in cleaning delicate objects and surfaces such as art, marble, stone, bronze, leather, wood, and fine fabrics.
• Empty trash and organize recycling.
• Cleaning windows and outdoor patios.
• Polish silver and copper as needed.
• Execute periodic seasonal or deep-clean projects such as bookshelves, closets, storage areas, and wood.
• Launder, iron, organize, maintain all clothes, closets, and drawers as needed by the principal and guests.
• Maintain organized household inventories (pantries, toiletries, cleaning supplies, staple goods).
• Maintain organized outdoor areas (patio furniture and common guest areas).
• Ability to recognize and notifying property manager of any necessary home and/or appliance repairs.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of consistent and recent fine housekeeping experience.
• Special training and knowledge of fine interiors and homes a plus.
• Highly organized, proactive, excellent time management, efficient, and multi-tasking - with a critical eye for detail in all elements of household cleaning care.
• Professional, capable, self-confident, and self-starting.
• Professional presentation of self and discreet.
• Strong communication skills.
• High level of discretion, loyalty, and integrity.
• Ability to adjust to and accommodate changing circumstances.
• Works well with guests and staff.
• An honest and committed individual who has attention to detail and strong follow-through skills.

·       Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

·       Must have own reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

The housekeeper will work in a private home setting. This person must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The housekeeper must also be able to maintain a professional appearance at all times performing other job duties.

This position is seasonal summer position and pays hourly. Starting pay range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.
