WORK YEAR: 178 days/year WORK HOURS: Average of 20 hours per week, typically scheduled for 2 hours in the morning (6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.) and 2 hours in the afternoon (1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday. Provide student support to transportation to/from school during morning and afternoon bus runs. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders. This position supports the needs of students with multiple disabilities while on district transportation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct supervision and support to students during arrival and dismissal, including safely escorting students to and from buses and designated areas. Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including those who may require physical assistance or specialized support.
- Assists the driver in the use of specialized equipment such as harnesses, seatbelts, wheelchairs, lifts, tie downs etc.
- Monitor student behavior on the bus and at loading/unloading zones to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment. Implement behavior support strategies as directed and promptly report concerns to appropriate staff.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, families, bus drivers, and school staff to promote clear communication and proactive problem-solving. Address minor concerns early and communicate patterns of behavior or safety issues to administrators as needed.
- Support the implementation of student-specific plans, including IEPs, behavior plans, or medical accommodations, while maintaining confidentiality of student information.
- Follow district policies and procedures related to student supervision, safety protocols, and emergency response. Assist in emergency drills and respond appropriately in crisis situations.
- Maintain accurate records or documentation as required, including incident reports or communication logs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested to support safe and efficient student transportation operations.
