Assistant Controller
Madison Street Search has partnered with an established manufacturing company in the northern Chicago suburbs seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and finance function. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role offers the opportunity to oversee financial operations and partner with leadership to support business performance within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities: Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, cash flow, and compliance. Lead budgeting and forecasting while partnering with purchasing, supply chain, and sales to improve margins and working capital. Manage a small accounting team, optimize financial processes, and serve as a key financial partner to executive leadership and investors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting, including GL, month-end close, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
- Strong technical accounting background, including inventory and product costing
- CPA strongly preferred
- Prior public accounting experience preferred
