TECHNICAL INTERN - PUBLIC UTILITIES FINANCE

Overview City of Riverside, Public Utilities Department is currently recruiting to fill one vacancy in their Finance Division. This is a temporary part‑time, non‑benefited position with a 1,000‑hour limit per fiscal year. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months. Responsibilities Under general supervision, perform entry‑level technical duties; assist in various types of work designed to complement and supplement existing City programs; and do related work as required. Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform basic technical assignments in area of specialization. Assist technical staff and respond to requests for information. Collect, summarize, and analyze information and statistics on existing programs and services. Prepare and evaluate reports. Participate in the development and implementation of procedures, guidelines, and standards. Perform research in the resolution of technical concerns and/or problems. Education Requirements Current enrollment in, or completion within the last five years of, a program from an accredited post‑secondary educational or vocational institution with major coursework related to a specialized field of study. Experience Requirements None required. Highly Desired Qualifications Major coursework geared towards a BS/BA in Accounting, an Accounting Minor, or a concentration in Accounting. Proficient in programs such as MS Excel and Word. Ability to create spreadsheets in Excel including formulas, graphs, and charts. Some prior work experience is desired.
