Summer Program Administrator - Seasonal

Description Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks & Recreation in Prince George’s County seeks enthusiastic Summer Program Administrators for inclusive camp settings. The role works with preschoolers, school‑age children, teens, and young adults, including campers with and without disabilities. Key Duties and Responsibilities Supervise daily activities of summer program participants aged 6‑17, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Oversee all program paperwork: maintain registration rosters, attendance sheets, sign‑in logs, and health logs. Administer Youth Camp Safety Standards, coordinate weekly fire and emergency evacuation drills, and ensure all profile forms for participants, staff and volunteers are complete. Collect field‑trip money, complete rosters, manage trip/transportation emergency plans, and maintain the Youth Camp Safety Standard trip book. Secure petty cash funds, track expenditures, and perform daily cash drops at designated facilities. Support the site director with volunteer supervision and assist with food‑service coordination. Complete weekly reports covering attendance, custodial status, financials, incidents, property damage and staff timecards. Serve as point of contact for parent emergencies, post site plans and emergency evaluation maps, and ensure compliance with M‑NCPPC rules and Youth Camp Safety Standards. Maintain inventory control, distribute equipment and supplies, and act as a Senior Counselor after administrative duties are finished for the day. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth in parks and recreation, physical education, childcare, or a related field, and 1 year of college (or equivalent). Must be 18 years of age or older. Pass a Maryland State background check. Required to attend pre‑service training, Youth Camp Safety Standards training, (food‑service training where applicable), and obtain CPR and First Aid certification prior to camp.
