Senior Human Resources Consultant

Our UPMC Chautauqua Human Resources team has an exciting opportunity available as a Senior Human Resources Consultant! This position primarily works onsite at UPMC Chautauqua and has minimal travel to the Erie region.

In this role, the Senior Human Resources Consultant functions as a strategic business partner providing day-to-day support to the HR team and hospital leaders regarding the implementation of human resources initiatives and strategies. They'll support a variety of clinical and non-clinical departments. Daily job responsibilities may include responding to employee inquiries, assisting with new hire orientation, leading employee investigations, monitoring HR compliance and reporting, and so much more! This position partners closely with our Northern Pod which also includes UPMC Hamot and UPMC Kane.

Responsibilities:

• Lead business objectives with employees and management, serving as a sr. business partner to management on HR-related issues and acts as a change agent. Accountable for managing and delivering HR programs and services within the organization
• Partner with leaders to provide and implement HR initiatives that support management and employees across the organization.
• Effectively communicate expectations with business, operational, and HR partners while promoting a One Team collaborative atmosphere in which all functions of HR work together as one team.
• Participate on local and/or organization wide committees that focus on projects that move the organization forward and towards meeting its strategic goals.
• Collaborate with HR business and operational leaders to identify education gaps and development opportunities for management and employees. Partners with management to provide consultation on coaching and mentorship for staff.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field and at least three years of employee relations experience required.
• OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of employee relations experience required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• PHR, SPHR certification, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification or UPMC HCI Strategic HR Business Partner Certification required within the first year of hire for external candidates. Internal applicants within UPMC HR are required to have the certification requirements in place to be considered for promotional opportunities.
