Construction Project Engineer

Responsibilities Supports the Construction Project Manager in coordinating major aspects of construction work, including acquisition of materials, equipment, and works; planning task costs; managing project scope, schedule, and budget; preparing change order documentation; creating project and quality control plans; developing and tracking Critical Path Method schedules; and ensuring crews follow project documents. Monitors quality control metrics and provides timely reports to PM or Superintendent. Provides technical information to ensure compliance with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications. Assists with budgets, buyouts, and the generation of RFIs. Read and interpret project drawings and specifications Provide material take‑offs, formulate cost estimates, and prepare proposals Prepare change order documentation Create project management plans Create project quality control plans Prepare Critical Path Method schedules Work with construction crews to follow project documents Maintain project files Create inspection checklists Carry out and document construction inspections Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Project Management 0–5 years of related experience, including commercial construction management and experience with public entities Utility and roadway construction experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager Procore experience preferred OSHA 10 preferred Bi‑Linguistic (Spanish) preferred Knowledge of standard construction practices, materials, equipment, and sequencing Application of civil, structural, or MEP engineering principles and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Ability to develop and track project schedules, coordinate tasks, and manage milestones using Primavera or MS Project Skills in quantity take‑offs, estimating, tracking project costs, and assisting budget management Proficient handling of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and familiarity with contract terms and administration Knowledge of applicable building codes, environmental regulations, and OSHA safety standards Ability to conduct site visits, support construction activities, resolve issues, and monitor quality and safety Capability to identify issues early, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions efficiently Skilled in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, Revit, or other construction management platforms Clear written and verbal communication for collaboration with contractors, clients, and internal teams Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed records Works effectively in cross‑functional teams and represents the company professionally with stakeholders Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage (deductible 100% covered through Garner Health) Company Sponsored Life Insurance and Short‑Term Disability Voluntary Coverages Discounted Gym Membership Competitive Base Salary 401(k) Retirement Plan Professional Development Incentives – bonuses for earning P.E. license Milhouse University – internal training and PDH credits Employee Education & Development Program – tuition assistance Generous PTO + Paid Holidays Paid Parental Leave (including a year of diapers covered) Extracurricular Sports Teams – summer Volleyball and Softball Employee Recognition Program Employee Referral Bonus Transit Benefits Program Charitable Events and Activities through Milhouse Charities Milhouse ensures all employees are compensated fairly and without bias, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
