Support Specialist

Pay $22/hr $1,000 Hiring Bonus* Shifts 3–10 PM Job Summary Positive Support Specialists (PSS) work in our Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs, serving individuals with intensive medical, behavioral, and mental health needs. Using a person‑centered approach, the role focuses on supporting people to reach their goals while ensuring safety for the individual, team members, and community. Consistency and routine are key to success. PSS assist individuals at home and in the community in participating in meaningful events and activities. Responsibilities Assist individuals to become more independent in performing essential life skills such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and navigating the community. Advocate for the supported people in areas such as rights, medical care, and community resources. Complete required documentation and record‑keeping for each shift. Manage crisis situations safely and effectively, including potential use of manual restraints; training will be provided in Positive Behavioral Supports and manual restraints as part of the 245D requirements. Requirements Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals. Physically able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods; must be able to lift 50 lbs. Knowledge of local community resources is a plus. Cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and posses a driver’s license; a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is also required. Qualifications Minimum education: high school diploma; preference for a degree in a relevant field. Minimum experience: 1–2 years working with people with complex needs; preference for 3–5 years of relevant experience.
