Warehouse Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary Responsible for performing various warehouse functions including assembling and packaging deliveries, rotation of inventory, and data entry of patient information. May also manage efficient and timely delivery of medication and supplies to patient homes, ambulatory infusion suites, or other sites of service. Assists with ordering, receiving, and stocking incoming shipments. Job Responsibilities Develops positive working rapport with courier service where applicable. Understands courier operations, response time, delivery protocol, after‑hours service, and compliance with federal, state, local regulations, HIPAA, and ACHC. Maintains assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly condition, reporting mechanical problems. Develops alternate delivery plans in the event of emergency breakdowns. Gathers and checks compounding material prior to its entry into the clean room. Compounds sterile preparations as needed and checks final product for particulate matter and container integrity before pharmacist review. Labels compounded sterile preparations when state regulations permit. Checks ancillary supplies and picks/packs supplies. Develops efficient territory management and delivery zones. Coordinates with customer service and Pharmacy to facilitate timely processing of delivery tickets and compounding documents. Assures the most cost‑effective method of delivery is utilized and tracks/trends lead time for delivery tickets. Coordinates with Pharmacy Technicians to prioritize mix schedule for efficient deliveries and meet time commitments. Utilizes delivery/warehouse best practices and maintains a safe work environment. Tracks and trends cost per delivery. Assists in orienting new warehouse team members. Participates in inventory count process through final reporting. Facilitates efficient workflow processes and stocking of inventory. Assembles and prepares patient deliveries. Receives and stocks incoming orders. Performs routine maintenance, testing, and cleaning of returned equipment. Performs inventory control on products, rotates stock as necessary, and notifies personnel of stock shortages in a timely manner. Accurately compiles ordered medication, supplies, equipment, and associated documentation in preparation for delivery and obtains supervisory cross‑check for accuracy. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Basic Education and/Or Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and active auto insurance at all times. Must meet all state requirements for a Pharmacy Technician, which may include registration, licensure, or certification. Texas: Registered Pharmacy Technician preferred; Pharmacy Technician in training required. Ohio: Pharmacy technicians must be registered; non‑compounded drug duties are allowed but sterile compounding is prohibited. Basic Qualifications Awareness of the supervisory pharmacist’s role and responsibility for medication integrity. Knowledge of geographic service areas, traffic patterns, and drive times. Understanding of all service options and delivery time commitments. Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret operational logistics functions. Ability to operate information systems, follow policy, complete required forms, and prepare reports. Basic mathematical skills for calculations. Reasoning ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and contribute to valid conclusions. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree preferred. One (1) year experience in Warehouse/Distribution/Inventory and Healthcare preferred. Travel Requirements None. Compensation Salary to be determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, aligned with internal equity and market data. Pay Range is $16.50–$25.53.
