Prevailing Wage Specialist

Job Description

A leading company in the construction materials industry is seeking a Prevailing Wage Specialist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected company that values accuracy, compliance, and collaboration. Compensation: $28.50- $31/hr

Availability: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a full-time, on-site position.

What you will be doing

\n
• Recognize, input and code prevailing wage hours correctly into the payroll software.
\n
• File required prevailing wage forms and reports, such as intents, affidavits, certified weekly payroll reports and other required documents.
\n
• Enter certified payroll.
\n
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required by prevailing wage regulations, including accurate reporting of employee wages, fringe benefits, and hours worked on a project-by-project basis.
\n
• Work with sales team to understand upcoming prevailing wage jobs.
\n
• Research and respond to employee inquiries about pay.
\n
• Assist payroll team members in processing payroll when needed.
\n
• Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.
\n
• Accurately calculate wages, benefits, and deductions according to prevailing wage rates and applicable laws.
\n
• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage regulations in all payroll activities.
\n

What we are looking for

\n
• 1+ year of prevailing wage or payroll experience preferred
\n
• Unionized payroll experience strongly preferred
\n
• Experience with certified payroll, wage calculations, and prevailing wage compliance a plus
\n
• Kronos experience a plus; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams
\n
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and payroll calculations
\n
• Ability to learn and apply complex payroll rules, regulations, and processes
\n
• Strong communication and customer service skills when working with employees, HR, and management
\n
• Organized, dependable, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
\n
• Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information professionally
\n

Nice to Have

\n
• Construction or construction materials industry experience
\n
• Post-secondary degree in a related field
\n
