RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, build, and operate a highly reliable, distributed telemetry platform capable of ingesting, processing, storing, and querying data at petabyte scaleCollaborate with other engineers on architecture, design, and code reviewsPartner closely with satellite and rocket teams to understand real mission needs and translate them into elegant technical solutionsTake full end-to-end ownership of the complete software and hardware stackDeep dive into business problems, find efficient solutions and apply first principles thinkingBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree1+ years of experience in full stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data sciencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Programming experience in C#, Java, or similar languagesExperience designing, building, and optimizing large-scale distributed systems for processing and querying high-volume dataHands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deploymentsWorking knowledge of Linux, version control, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and monitoring systemsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Willing to work extended hours and weekends when neededCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay Range:Level 1: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00Level 2: $145,000.00 - $200,000.00Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
