Department Profile The Labor & Delivery Unit at Duke Regional Hospital has 17 beds and delivers an average of 200 patients each month. It is a Level 2 facility serving patients 32 weeks gestation and up, with 24/7 in‑house OB, neonatal, and anesthesia provider coverage. The unit focuses on serving our community and partnering with families to create a safe and respectful birth environment. It offers high‑tech maternity care in a close‑knit family environment and is part of a multidisciplinary team in a shared governance setup. Rotation: Day and Night Shift 7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM, 12‑hour shift per week with call. Job Summary As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, you will provide nursing care and support patients in a patient‑centered, whole‑person environment. Responsibilities include direct and indirect care, application of the nursing process, advanced/specialized nursing care, education, departmental committee participation, research activities, and patient/family support in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing scope and all applicable regulations. Minimum Qualifications Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program. Minimum 2 years of appropriate clinical experience; 1 year and 6 months of women’s services experience preferred. Licensure & Certifications Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina. BLS required.
